Houston “The Assassin” Alexander is one of the most unique competitors in mixed martial arts (MMA) today. Alexander, a noted slugger, began his career with a 6-1-0-1 record, which included five strike-related finishes. This string of performances earned Alexander a shot in the UFC®, and he made the most of it.
Alexander instantly became a fan favorite from the moment he made his iconic debut at UFC® 71 in 2007. Coming into the fight as the underdog, Alexander shocked millions by quickly defeating top UFC® light heavyweight contender, Keith Jardine, in a mere 48 seconds. After clinching two impressive first round TKO victories, the first over Jardine and the second over Alessio Sakara , Alexander hit a rough stretch that consequently lead to his release from the UFC®.
Alexander’s “rough stretch” was very short lived and proved to be nothing more than a minor setback. Alexander, now (13-6-0-2), is back on track and stronger than ever. He has not lost a bout since January of 2010 and continues his steady rise back to the top, methodically claiming one impressive victory after another. Houston is also involved with The Stars Agency as a model and actor and currently has a role in the Danny Trejo movie Vengeance.
